About

De Wereldvrede is a creative production company founded in 2013 by Gilles De Schryver and Gilles Coulier. 
In 2014, it merged with Lionheart Productions, sharpening its focus on fiction and documentary projects.

Our mission is to produce high-quality fiction for an international market, with a strong emphasis on the creator’s vision and a bottom-up production approach.
De Wereldvrede made its very successful breakthrough with the TV series ‘Bevergem’ (‘The Natives’) for Canvas,, followed by Coulier’s feature film ‘Cargo’, which was selected for several international festivals.

In 2019, De Wereldvrede delivered the series ‘War of the Worlds’ and ‘Albatros’, the latter winning the prestigious Prix Europa.
They’ve also found success with short films such as ‘Stephanie’ (Official selection Cannes, winner of the Ensor for Best Short Film) and ‘Ada’ (Jury Prize at the Leuven Short Film Festival).

The short film series ‘Lockdown’ (2021) won an award at CANNESERIES and ‘Roomies’ (2022) received international acclaim.
In 2024, the feature debuts ‘Holy Rosita’ and ‘Julie Keeps Quiet’ both premiered internationally, earning multiple awards and festival selections. ‘Julie Keeps Quiet’ premiered at Cannes Critic’s week and was chosen as Belgium’s official Oscar entry. Both films won five Ensor awards.

In October 2025, the second season of the fiction series ‘Roomies’, by Kato De Boeck and Flo Van Deuren, premiered at Film Fest Gent and once again received five-star reviews.

Nathalie Teirlinck's second feature, ‘Jonah Was Here’, is premiering at Film Fest Gent in October, and ‘Alors on danse’, Pieter Van Hees' latest film, is in advanced development stage and will be shot in the summer of 2027.

De Wereldvrede is also working on a range of other projects, including the short films ‘Portrait of a Boy’ and ‘Helium Cobra’; the feature films ‘Harvest’, ‘The Right to Say Goodbye’ and ‘Dirty Kids’; and the fiction series ‘King of Hearts’, ‘Recidive’ and ‘Beats of Love’.
